Hi there,

            Couple os years back I had purchased Sony Vaio Laptop with Original Windows 7 installed. Till many years I use MS Word and Excel without any issue. but at the start of this month i was forced to restore my system to its Original state due to a virus installed in my system. Further, i tried to unlock MS Office through product key of Windows (in confusion that the product key of Windows and Office should be same). after that office got uninstalled automatically while connected with internet. Further I install Office Trial 365 in a hope that MS Word and Excel will work, but after I don't know what happen? but now I become unable to use Word and Excel.

          As i got informed from the Show room of Sony Vaio, that you were not subscribed for MS Office but u were authorised with a complimentary pack to use MS Word and Excel and further he told me that please contact Microsoft for your resolution.

           Now please help me in this matter.

Hallo, ich bin auf dieser Seite schon auf dieses Problem gestoßen. Ich habe aber außerdem, dass sich die Eintellungen bzw. die vorinstallierten Apps von Windows sich seit dem Creators Update nicht mehr Öffnen lassen. Es kommt auch noch dazu, dass Windows ständig abstürtzt.

Hi! 

I get a free subscription to Office 365 through my university but after about a year, it was time to renew the subscription. So I went to do that through my college e-mail and it said that in order for me to renew it, I had to uninstall the Office 365 that I had. So I did all of that, reinstalled Office 365, and I thought that was the end of it.

However, I've been having a lot of trouble whenever I just hover over a Word or an Excel document. Without even opening the file, I get the "Sorry, something went wrong and Word was unable to start. (24)" error message. I never even clicked on the file to open it so I don't understand why the error message pops up anyways. And whenever I do have Excel or Word opened, the error message pops up constantly! 

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling all over again, I've ran the Fix-It tool, and I know it's not a problem with whatever add-ins Excel and Word have because I can open them up in Safe Mode. 

When it was time to renew my subscription to Office 365, I had just upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7.

Where is the conversation history that the Skype for Business app shows stored? I thought it was a view on the conversation history folder in Outlook, but I have a user who has deleted conversations from Outlook and they still appear in SfB even after a restart.

Hello,

I have a system on a metered connection and need to install Office Business Premium 2016 on to that computer without the large download size. I do have a computer on a different connection (different location) where I could download the files and carry over and install via usb or cd. How would I be able to achieve this?

We have a Dutch office365 environment using a Dutch Office version (2016). When we invite people for a Skype meeting a mail is send in Dutch language which is, of course, not what we want. It also send the users to a Dutch meeting site. How can I change this to English?

One of our Skype for Business users has her "Show me as Inactive when my computer has been idle for this many minutes" set to 10. However, her status is set to Available, even when she has been away from her computer for over 10 minutes. (We just tested this when she left for the day and I monitored her Skype for Business status.)

Any ideas what might be causing this? It does not appear to affect other users.

Before the migration to Office 365, while the "anonymous setting" is enabled, everyone can access the SharePoint without problem. Now, it seems that we can only open access to specified users. What we want to know is do we have any other solution? Since we don't know every user, and users may be increasing every single day. How can we open the site?

Hi, thanks for reading

this is my scenario:

* Internal Active Directory

* AADConnect deployed, working good (sync new accounts, reset passwords, etc)

* O365 (Azure Active Directory Standard)

* password write back feature unavailable, because my license don't have it

* before without AADConnect, all users have expired passwords policy from O365 platform.


My issue:

* my internal policies requires expired passwords, so the user must change their password.

* too many of my users are external, so from AADConnect perspective, they can't change the expired passwords from O365 (No password write back available) because they haven't internal PC joined to domain.

* so, when the password expires in my internal active directory, that password do not expires in Azure Active Directory. The external users can access to all services.

* we wanna that if passwords expires in my internal AD, that account must be disabled or blocked in Azure Active Directory for force their change through our internal help desk service.

is this possible?

I have 1 user that has a mailbox in 365 and on the local exchange server. I want to purge the mailbox + account in 365. then re-sync and add the account back up to 365. In Azure powershell, I connected to 365 and ran this: remove-mailbox user@domain,com -permanentlyDelete and I get this

This mailbox cannot be permanently deleted since there is a soft deleted user associated with this mailbox. You will first need to permanently delete the user. Please refer to documentation for more details.

How can i remove the account from 365?

Nach der Installation des Creators-Update habe ich ähnliche und auch zusätzliche Probleme wie auch vorher schon mit Updates.

Es klappte zunächst, bis ich dann den Rechner mittags heruntergefahren hatte.

Dann ist zunächst folgendes passiert: Die Monitore blieben schwarz, aber Taskmanager und alles, was damit zutun hat, funktionierte und war zu sehen, einschl. Mauszeiger. Dabei war es egal, ob ich mich mit meinem MS-Konto oder an meine Domäne angemeldet habe.

Ich habe dann meine Installations-CD (heute Morgen erstellt, bevor ich mit der Update-Aktionen begonnen habe) beim Start ins LW gelegt, damit ging es zunächst.

Danach kam dann das, was ich eigentlich schon habe (nicht immer, aber meistens), seit ich Windows 10 auf diesem PC installiert habe und nutze (und hier an anderer Stelle, nämlich hier, schon beschrieben habe): Der PC bleibt beim Anmelden schlicht stehen, es passiert nichts mehr, Hardware-Reset ist nötig.

Seit kurzem (einer Neuinstallation vor ca. 3 Wochen) ist es nun auch noch so, dass ich das Problem erst damit beheben kann, dass ich beim Start eine Windows-DVD im LW habe.

Nicht, dass ich nun garnichts machen kann, aber jetzt, nach diesem umfangreichen Update, kommt da alles zusammen wieder hoch, und außer der einen oder anderen behelfsmäßigen (Übergangs-) Lösung (auch dank einiger Tipps hier) habe ich noch nirgends etwas gefunden, was endgültig Abhilfe schaffen könnte.

Der Vollständigkeit halber nochmal die Konfiguration:

MB ASUS Z170 DeLuxe

GraKa ASUS AMD Radeon R9 390X

64GB Hauptspeicher

Hauppauge WinTV HVR (Model 53xxx Hybrid)

Audio Onboard

System auf Samsung SSD Pro 512GB

Die gesamte Hardware ist aufgrund der Mainboard-Kompatibilitätsliste ausgesucht und eingebaut.

Die übliche Standard-Software, kein externes AV-Programm, keinerlei irgendwelche Non-MS-System-Tools. 

Can't adjust screen brightness on Surface Pro 4. Not with the keyboard or with action center.

I am having a problem with adjusting the screen brightness on my Surface Pro 4.

(It happened a few days after the new Windows 10 Creators update)

I can't change with neither the keyboard using "FN+Del" or "FN+Backspace", nor with using the Action center or Battery icon.

What I have done and observed:

• The adjust screen brightness button is NOT greyed out (see picture)
• When I try to change screen brightness with the keyboard I get the blue bar (as with volume controls) showing I am changing the brightness, but visually it has not changed. (see picture)
• I've tried to update my Display Adapter using Device Manager. 
• I've tried to change my Display Adapter by "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer" from Intel HD Graphics 520 to Microsoft Basic Display Adapter. 
• I've tried to turn off "Adjust my screen brightness automatically". 
• I've tried to update my screen monitor drivers in Device Manager.
• I tried to change my Screen Monitor with "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer" from Surface Display to Generic PnP-Monitor .
  • This worked to change my screen brightness the moment I changed the driver. However, it only changes to which setting I had changed to with action center or the keyboard. The keyboard and action center still doesn't work after changing the driver. Meaning I have to go to Device Manager and change my Screen monitor driver every time I want to change the brightness of my screen, as it only changes the moment I change driver.

Please help me!

I have tried everything I can find on a client machine running Windows 10 Pro x64 and Office 365 (2016 apps installed). There are multiple users that use a machine with a common Windows logon due to Point of Sale software but then I have 2 Outlook profiles that users select from to open their email and I need to force the password prompt every time.

Currently I had Credential Manager turned off (stopped service and set to disabled) and the first time users goes into Outlook, they are prompted for password but then  after the initial prompt, Outlook or Windows still seems to remember the password as it allows me to select the profile when Outlook launches but then automatically opens without asking for password. When I type in the password, I an not selecting to remember the password either.

Outlook is not using cache mode so there is no OST file for offline browsing so I cannot figure out how Outlook remembers the password since it should prompt and if I cancel, then Outlook closes since it cannot open mailbox.

Any idea would be appreciated as I do not understand why this machine won't prompt

Dear MS Team

The last i used my surface pro 4 was on 15 May 2017. When I decided to boot up my surface pro 4 again on 30 May 2017, it refuse to start up. I have tried the following method, and it did not work:

- Press the power button for 30 sec, followed by press power and volume up together for 15 sec, wait for 10 sec and press power button again

- press, window+ctrl+shift+b on the keyboard

All the above method did not work. Please help. :(

FWIW, Outlook USED to have this functionality. Some genius thought it needed to be removed.

Bonjour j'ai créé un carnet sous Word 2016 format Bristol L8.2mm x H12.8mm. J'essaie de l'imprimer recto verso sur papier A4 ( 4 pages par feuilles sur chaque face ). A la sortie, les deux faces ne sont pas parfaitement alignées pour la découpe au massicot. Quelqu'un peut-il me donner les paramètres à entrer pour que cela coïncide exactement ? Merci d'avance.
