I live in the U.S., but I received a notice from my Outlook account (basically a Hotmail account, but it's @msn.com) that someone in Kazakhstan had just signed into my account. Good work letting me know right away, Microsoft!
So I followed the prompts, signed into my account and promptly changed the password. Cool.
Since I use the same password when signing into my computer when it boots up (I sign into my Microsoft Account) I rebooted my computer expecting that I would now have to enter in the new password. But just cuz I like to be difficult, I figured I'd try using
my OLD password, expecting it to tell me that wasn't the right password and prompt me to enter the right (new) one. I was confused when my old password still worked.
So I figured I'd try to figure that out after I took care of changing the password in my Outlook (Office 365 Personal). After all, it obviously no longer knows the password to my email account, since I'd just change it. So I start up Outlook, and it runs
just fine! It retrieved my new emails without ever asking for a password.
WHY???
I went into the account settings and there isn't even a place to set the password like there used to be in the previous versions of Outlook. I don't understand.
