Hello, my word document won't let me edit it. Every time I try to click on an area to edit e.g. type, it brings the flashing cursor straight back to the beginning of the document before the first word. 

Everything up on the tool bar is shaded also and will not let me click on it. 

Any help at all is appreciated! This is urgent :( 

Where do I start....

I have been off the grid since 'upgrading' to Windows 10 from Windows 7 for years now. I was duped with the Windows 10 install by the clever Microsoft 'Update Now' bug/feature/ad in the bottom right hand corner of my screen; dupe. At any rate, I am currently raging against this Windows 10 machine, and the 'years' aspect previously noted is due to difficulties that bring me to this forum today.

Before we get started, I know how to read log files and understand what they mean from a system perspective. That is with a BIG IF, I know what the system is and what it does. Searching Windows error codes needs significant improvement if you want Google searches to be productive.

My troubleshooting:

I have recently used the legacy Windows Update to upgrade my system to today's status (spec's are down below). While doing that, Windows 10 Update Assistant has been installed on this machine, and I have tried to use this to upgrade.

For the life of me, I cannot get passed the 52% complete screen after the second reboot upon Windows 10 Update Assistant initiation of the upgrade install.

In a 'Windows Setup' window, I see the following message: Windows could not configure one or more system components. To install Windows, restart the computer and then restart the installation.'

My current upgrade checklist takes me through this path: troubleshooting the Windows Update install (if you don't know what I mean, then you're no help to me), running sfc /scannow (with no issues), running dism /online /clean-image /restorehealth (with no issues), then allowing Windows 10 Update Assistant to perform it's task. NO DICE.

Its just strange that my laptop(Inspiron N4050 ) just swallowed up the wifi network driver all of a sudden.I tried to download the drivers from dell website.Strangely,website recognised my laptop but did not show up any wifi drivers to download.When I tried to seach manually,there were multiple WLAN/wifi drivers and I was left confused as to which one to download.And there was no option for windows 10 OS in the drop down list(I have upgraded my laptop from win7 to w in 10 2yrs back).I tried to download one of those drivers and install it.BuSystem pops up a msg showing this app is not compatiable for windows 10.Its been huge problem for me to work without wifi.I am attaching ss of my device manager and drivers available on dell website.Please guide me.t

So outlook stopped sending email and would not connect to the exchange. I uninstalled office and reinstalled and now it wont detect the new install or activate. Outlook will not open saying " Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened.  You must connect to Microsoft Exchange with the current profile before you can synchronize you folders with you Outlook data file (.ost). 

Have tried deleting and creating new profiles, repair tool. nothing seems to work.

こんにちは。一昨日あたりから急にPCが重くなり、タスクマネージャーで確認しましたら、ウイルスバスターの他にNT Kernel & Systemが定期的（60秒の間に何度かディスク使用率が100％になるぐらい）に負荷がかかってました。

CPUやメモリ自体は余裕があり、あくまでディスク使用率が高いだけなのです。検索などしてもNT Kernel & Systemの該当するやつはCPU関係のばかりで解決方法が見つからない状態なので質問させていただきました。

OSはWindows10のCPUはセルロン1.90ghz、メモリは4Gの5年ぐらい前の低スペックノートパソコンですが、現在の症状が出たのは一昨日が初めてで、アプリなどは最近入れてはおりません。

I just got a new Acer laptop and I've installed quite a few updates.  I had most of my install files already downloaded, so I'm just trying to get on the Net now.  The programs I installed were able to get their own updates and download no problem, and Office is able to connect to the Internet (I can use Outlook and activated Office 365).  Only the WWW seems to be down.

Some sites i've tried are google.com, msn.com, bing.com, and yahoo.com.  nothing works.

When I go to Chrome, I get:

I tried Firefox and got to a few pages (sort of), but keep getting errors about security codes and not displaying everything.

In another thread I saw to do a "netsh winsock reset" as an admin from the command prompt, which I did, to no effect.  I ran the Windows troubleshooter and it says everything is hunky dory.  

I checked Bitdefender and it says it's not blocking anything.  I'm on a different computer atm using the exact same network and settings (win8.1, though).  

Any thoughts?
