Hello,

A few days ago I started having an error whenever I attempted to open any office file, this error keeps popping up. I've tried doing the quick fix, online fix, even completely removing Office365 from my computer and reinstalling but no change.

I can open the actual programs directly, but only once I've copied the application and renamed one so it ends with .EXE - Only one that hasn't worked with is Word - If I don't create one without the .EXE it comes up with 'Something's gone wrong. We're sorry, but something about your office Installation isn't working quite right. Please Repair your product by using the Programs and Features option in the Control Panel. You can also go online to look for more help.' Equally, if I don't add the .EXE to one of them, error in the subject pops up, even though I'm opening the Application, not a shortcut.

Finally, even if I have the above .EXE and non .EXE application, when I try to open an actual file from the desktop (or any location) it comes up with the error in the subject line.

Any help is most appreciated.

Greetings~

I have been having a rather 'annoying' problem for a while, I believe it happened with one of the updates to skype PROGRAM... NOT the Windows 10 App.

Problem #1: Upon finishing a Video chat with ANY of my contacts, either singly or in a group capacity, and logging off of Skype AND closing the program completely (Right click on System tray icon and choosing Quit) my Web cam light stays illuminated, and will remain illuminated until the procedure/workaround mentioned below is done OR I power down or restart my computer.

Workaround that I have done: The ONLY way that i have found to alleviate this issue (apart from powering down or restarting my computer, which is rather inconvenient especially if i have to do it after EACH video chat) is the following procedure:

( ---> = mouse click in below procedure)

(Usually done while still logged in but sometimes I forget to do it and have to log back into Skype again to complete this procedure)

---> Tools at top of Contacts window ---> Options--->Video Settings ---> Save ... Webcam light goes out and stays out till next video call and then the procedure has to be followed again upon completion of each and every video call .

I know it has been recommended to use the App rather than the Program itself.. I have TRIED to use the App .. while it HAS alleviated webcam issue the issue .. I dont personally care for the interface or lack of functionality that the program itself has .

OS: windows 10 64-bit (Desktop computer) Fully up to date.

Skype Version: 7.40.0.151

Webcam : Logitech HD 720 HD C270 (with fully updated software from Logitech)

Hola, creé una cuenta hace un tiempo pero no pude acceder a ella porque con el paso del tiempo se me perdieron los datos de ésta y no pude ni con el formulario.

Debido a esto ya como último recurso me gustaría saber si pueden al menos revisar el tiempo que lleva inactiva para saber si es posible que por estar inactiva sea eliminada y así por lo menos no se quede en el limbo porque al no poder acceder a ella tampoco puedo eliminarla.

Por favor, respóndanme lo antes posible. Es importante.

Non riesco nemmeno a far smettere il PC nel CONTINUO RI-DOWNLOAD di tutto.
Mi limita molto nel lavoro: in background scarica di nuovo ogni volta gli aggiornamenti. Tenta l'installazione e dopo essere arrivato alla fine ripristina la versione precedente.
Poi ricomincia il download e così via.
Come posso uscire da questa situazione snervante?

The main hard drive c and the other is FF .I went into FF properties and I found direct x shader cache.

I'm using my Skype id sabeel.in for long time, right now when i try to login to my Skype id its not working, and i found a different email there ad primary. i never used that email id and i had signup my email id with *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. but its showing different to recover it. i had filled the form and the Microsoft is sending email that the id is not belong to me. i need to recover my Skype id sabeel.in which i had given reference in many places.

I have a HP Omen 15 i5 7300hq, GTX 1060Max Q, 8Gb RAM.

At what seems like random times but largely when I wake the computer from sleep on shutdown position, system will start hogging 40% CPU, up from 2% idle.

It will stay like this until I restart, after a restart it can stay functional for hours but then out of nowhere it happens. I don;t need to be running any application, it will start when its left on rhe desktop. But it does seem like it happens mostly after waking up.

The fact that once it starts ,it does not stop tells me its not supposed to be this way.

Ive performed a clean boot and it happens also in this state.

Bonjour,

Je viens d'acheter 2 PC neufs sous W10 pour une association, et j'essaye de les configurer de façon similaire.

J'ai acheté pour chacun, 1 licence de Office Famille Etudiants 2016.

J'ai copié sur ces 2 PC un fichier au format .xls.

Je vais dans l'Explorateur de fichiers sur les 2 et je me positionne sur ce fichier .xls

sur le 1er, si j'essaye de l'ouvrir par double-clic, j'ai le message "Aucun programme n'est associé à ce fichier. Installer un programme ou aller dans panneau de config"
sur le 2ème, j'ai dû toucher quelque chose à un moment, et ce fichier est associé à "Office XML Handler", et si j'essaye d'ouvrir ce fichier par double-clic, il ne se passe rien : pas d'ouverture et pas de message. Je voudrais bien supprimer ce lien mais ne sait comment faire ?
Sur les 2, dans l'explorateur je fais un clic droit et "Ouvrir avec" ( le 2ème me propose en plus "Office XML Handler" ), on ne me propose pas d'ouvrir ce fichier avec Excel 2016, mais on me propose d'aller rechercher une application dans le "Windows Store", et la 1ère application proposée est "Excel 2016" que je pense avoir sur mes PC ! çà parait très bizarre.
Par contre sur les 2, si je lance l'application "Excel 2016" et qu'ensuite dans ce logiciel je vais ouvrir mon fichier .xls, alors là çà marche ( mais avec un message d'avertissement sur le 1er : "Le format et l'extension du fichier 'export.xls' ne correspond pas. Le fichier peut présenter un risque ou être endommagé. Ne l'ouvrez pas à moins que la source soit fiable. Voulez-vous l'ouvrir ?" ). Je réponds "oui" et çà marche.
Sur les 2, si je vais dans le Panneau de Config dans "Choisir les applications par défaut par type de fichier", c'est la même chose que "Ouvrir avec" dans l'explorateur ( je ne peux pas supprimer Office XML Handler pour le 2ème) et on me propose le Windows Store qui m'affiche en 1er : "Excel 2016" : je n'ose pas le sélectionner car il risque de m'écraser Excel 2016 de ma Suite Office ?

Donc en résumé 2 problèmes que j'aimerais résoudre :

Comment supprimer le lien entre fichier de type .xls et "Office XML Handler" sur mon 2ème PC ?
Comment faire pour associer les fichiers de type xls avec Excel 2016 Installé sur la machine ?

Microsoft accepteert de productcode van mijn MS Office 2013 niet wanneer ik het installeer op mijn nieuwe computer. Ik gebruik het product op geen enkele andere computer.

Witam, zakupiłem server vps z systemem windows server 2016. Czy jest jakaś możliwość samodzielnego wyłączenia windows defender security która blokuje programy które są niby wirusami dla windowsa? Jeżeli są potrzebne screeny to dołączę . Pozdrawiam

Windows Hello crashes on fingerprint setup?!

Hello. I faced with this issue after upgrading Windows to 1709 version

OS: Windows 10 Home 1709 x64. PC: Lenovo Yoga 720-13IKB.

Accomplished steps trying to resolve problem.

- reseting PIN, fingerprint.

- synaptics wbdi driver (uninstalling device with driver deleting), reinstalling, still remain on version 5.5.260.1050

- updating Realtek camera driver to version 10.0.15063.11305.

- updating Intel SGES to version 1.9.106.43403.

- updating BIOS to latest version, checking if '"Intel SGX" option enabled.

- enable GPEDIT.msc with patched files from Win7 version. Note: no "Biometrics" option was seen despite existence of Biometrics *.admx and *.adml files in proper system policy directories.

None of above steps did not helped to resolving the issue.

Temporary fix was unexpected. I download Synaptics WBDI 5.5.4020.1052 driver that finally did not fit to my Synaptics device but I noted app in the driver folder (PQIFingerprintManager.exe) that allowed to set fingerprints to Windows Hello without setting up PIN. Fingerprint startup entry was tested and worked. But Windows Hello fingerprint setup still crashes that bothered me.

Final fix that resolve issue was editing policy via gpedit.msc (Computer Configuration -> Windows Settings -> Security Settings -> Local Policies -> Security Options. Set "User Account Control: Run all administrators in Admin Approval Mode" to Enabled. Restart PC.).
