I couldn't get #11102 to install on my desktop PC.  I tried several times and got errors about check for memory problems.  I pulled RAM and shuffled it around as online advise suggested.  

    I decided to reset the PC and it started and stayed at 2% for several hours.   I tried starting over and it did the same thing at 1% for several more hours.  

    I next shut down and restarted with my Win-7 install/upgrade disk. Tired of trying to get it to repair I clicked custom install, after moving all of my files to my external hard drive.

    Now I have Win-7  w/service pack 1,  and IE-8.   Have been trying for 2 days now to get updates, or to upgrade to Win-10.  Can't get IE-9, IE-10, or IE-11 to install.   

   I think I may have picked the wrong PC name when I did the custom install and no matter which PC name I change to it is trying to find the files and updates for the wrong PC?

    I have a install saved for Win-10 and burned a DVD of it 3 copies and it always finds an error and won't install.

    I found a original DVD that I downloaded the first build of Win-10  ISO that I used to install Win-10 on this laptop.

    Tried installing from the ISO disk and it got to the part of downloading updates and ran for a couple of hours before I got the message to turn on Updates.   I checked and updates are set to automatic.  I click to check for updates and it stops almost immediately and shows error that Cryptographic Service is not registered.  I have Net Frame Work 3.5 showing to be installed?

    Any way to just start from build #11102 or am I stuck with having to pay for Win-10 now that the free period is over?

     I have Win-10 on this laptop and it works just fine with build #11102,  it has way less memory and small SSD.

I have tried all of the fixes already suggested and none of them have worked. Feeling frustrated and cross.

Original title: WINDOWS CAMERA

Windows camera in my laptop is often getting off unexpectedly. I am getting the message that "something went wrong." "Make sure that your camera is connected and not being used by another app." I suspect trojen or backdoor malware app. Kindly help.

This morning while reading my email in Outlook 2007, all of a sudden I got a BSOD saying something about the 64.sys file, then it shut down.  After rebooting the start menu, task bar, quick launch bar are all not working properly.  When I right click on the task bar, the whole desktop flashes to solid blue then back to the normal desktop.  The icons on the desktop are working but none of the menus are.  Anyone have any ideas or seen this before.  I am running Windows 10 Pro build 10240.  This a scratch load from a clean SATA hard drive so there are no upgrade issues to deal with.

Is it possible to install and run IE 10 or 11 on Windows Server 2003 R2?  Our Windows SysAdmin keeps telling me that IE10 requires a minimum of 2008 R2 and IE11 requires 2012 R2, but I see multiple installers for both versions for versions as old as Windows 7.  If this is the case, then would not the same Win7 based installers work for Server 2003, or is there another installer for either of these for 2003?

I have a yellow banner across the top of my Outlook 2013 screen that tells me that an Update is available to download.  Then a button says to Click Here to close some apps.  I am running Windows 8.1 on a relatively new Dell desktop.  I am questioning whether the yellow banner and notification is from Microsoft.  I have Windows set to automatically update and I thought this would automatically update Outlook as well.  Am I safe to make the download or might the Update banner be malicious?

No matter what, my desktop icons will NOT stop moving. As someone with OCD, who NEEDS my desktop to be ordered in such a way so I don't get anxiety, it's very frustrating. And before you ask-I already have it set so that it SHOULDN'T be able to change my icons.

Maybe the option is there and I just don't see it...but I cannot find manual network selection under SIM settings like was in the UI for WM 8.1. when I chan Sims and restart the phone using the latest Windows 10 mobile, it takes forever sometimes to connect to a tower and seems to only use automatic. Need this option. Has this feature been moved somewhere else? Can't scan to see what networks it can see either.

So I downloaded windows 10 and everything was great. I loved the new start screen, all the usable apps. etc. Problem is, I don't have the apps anymore, they seem to have vanished. The search bar is no longer usable and the notifications don't work either. I've been waiting for Microsoft to come out with a fix for this (Thinking I'm not alone). Its been 2 months and still not working. I tried system restore and guess what....not working either. Help :(

Hey! I am having issues with my laptops brightness. It doesn't change at all. The FN keys don't work nor do any of the brightness display options in the control panel, power options or windows mobility center. How do i fix this? Its driving me insane

Toshiba refuses to give me my key again.  They want me to buy a something.  I can buy a new windows 7.   I want a working key that came with my windows 7 that was installed when I bought the computer.  

If I HAVE to pay more money to buy what they should have supplied I need it in 2 days.  I going out of the country in 3 days

I received a satisfactory answer to my question about a missing DVD drive manager in my newly downloaded Windows 10 for which many thanks to all who have responded . I want to stop receiving further e-mails about it, and followed the click here link on page 1 to allegedly stop the mails, however there is NO stop e-mails link on the page I am directed to, either the directed page link is wrong, or someone didn't program the link on the directed page. Whatever is the case, daily mails on a dealt with topic is irritating to say the least, and time wasting for those kindly answering the topic again and again! 

Can someone at Microsoft please sort it out!

Original Title: I upgraded my laptop from 7 to 10, and now 10 is telling me it's going to expire soon.

What exactly do I do here? I upgraded through the pop-up that microsoft gave me for windows 10, and since computer manufactures don't put windows product key stickers on their computers anymore for some reason, I don't exactly have a product key to enter.

Why would it all of a sudden expire, though? It's not the preview version, it's the release version that microsoft pushed out to every eligible person when 10 came out.
