Windows says my password is wrong

I normally sign into windows 10 on my computer using a local account. I have been using the same password for years so I know that the password is correct. Last night I wanted to download and install a desktop theme and my computer asked me to login to my Microsoft live account in order to do this. I installed the theme and thought nothing more about it. This theme was from the Microsoft website, not some strange one. Anyway, today I tried to log on to my computer using my usual password and got the message that my password was incorrect. So then I thought maybe it wanted my Microsoft password so I tried that, it still says my password is incorrect. I have tried old passwords thinking maybe somehow my computer had reverted to an old one. Nothing works. I cannot go to command prompt or any of the other things I have read about to fix this because everything I try to do asks for my password first. There are no options on my computer for logging on to it another way, no pictures, no pins, etc. I am able to log into my Microsoft account and see my device there. I can also locate it from my account. I have no idea what else to do to get back on to my computer. I even tried clicking the forgotten password option after entering the wrong password and it says I have to have a usb device, which I have read would have had to have  been set up before I got locked out of my computer. I now feel like Microsoft is holding my computer hostage. Any help here would be appreciated.
