Following on from the thread from 2013

Excel does not calculate formulas sometimes, even though i follow typical instructions such as
http://www.exceltip.com/tips/formula-does-not-calculate-in-microsoft-excel.html
to ensure that
1) the cell style is General (or number),
2) Formulas> Calculation options is Automatic and
2) CTRL + ~ has no effect
However, Ashish Mathur's solution on the previous thread of finding and replacing all the = (equals signs) with = (equals signs) does work but as softlution says later in the above thread, this is a manual correction that only works once -- if I alter the formula
it goes back to non-calculated-- rather than a solution. I don't want to have to find and replace every time I use a formula. This problem was from 5 years ago. Is there no solution?
