Items in print queue disappear. Never print.

I attempt to print to an HP 4630 printer from my Win10 machine. The print item briefly shows up in the queue and then disappears. The printer never prints. I see the following error in the event log which seems to indicate a problem when the print spooler starts. No idea how to resolve. Any help appreciated.
