Input devices not working on login screen

I was trying to install Ubuntu, so I booted the PC from a USB device. I eventually did not install Ubuntu and when I restarted the PC it booted into Windows 10 as per usual. Everything seemed fine until I had to login - my mouse and keyboard were not working.

The red LED under the mouse was also shut off. 

I then changed a couple of settings in the BIOS: I turned ON legacy USB support and I checked if all the USB ports were active - which they were. Then I switched fast boot off. Still not working.

I also tryied different mouses and keyboards but they all weren't working. I tryied plugging the devices into different ports with the same result.

I managed to start the startup repair by cutting off the power when the PC was booting. Mouse and keyboard WORKED there.

I reinstalled Windows, loosing most of my programs, but that did it. Mouse and keyboard worked again like they always did. 

The thing is: I want to install Ubuntu alongside Windows. Now I'm scared of doing it. I don't want to reinstall Windows like I did before. What may have caused the issue? How can I prevent it?

my Hotmail account used to be my recovery email of my yahoo account, now there is this person from another country who was able to change all info of my Hotmail. Even when I already  removed my Hotmail as my recovery email, this person still gets to access my yahoo using the code this person been receiving from Hotmail to access my yahoo. Now am worried that this person will use my Hotmail account on illegal doings and worried that this person could also take over my yahoo account where all my contacts and vital info are stored. Please help me as I don't know what to do.

I have received a text from MSFT giving me an account security code. Can you tell me why this is? As i have not tried to access any of my accounts today. If this is someone trying to compromise my account. Is there a way of finding out which account it is?

Hello, I am not sure if anyone can help me, but I am super frustrated now. I have tried to contact Microsoft 5 times and keep getting disconnected. I am unsure how it happened, I assume that it was an automatic update, but my HP Pavilion laptop is now stuck on the blue screen that says it needs to restart and that it will restart, then it cycles to the HP screen and it says preparing for automatic repair. It keeps looping between these two screens, it has been like this for a week and I have tried everything to fix it. I do not have any access to any other screens I can not try to go back to before the update, I am unable to start in safe mode, I can not do anything with a disc as my computer does not have a disc drive.... I really do not know what to do. I have Windows 10 already so it wasn't because of an upgrade... If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it, I have talked to 4 different people at Microsoft and we keep getting disconnected. I am not sure why they get a call back number because they never call me back....

Ethernet Constantly Loses Connection

Sometimes when I connect my ethernet cable, it works fine and I have internet connection for a few hours. Sometimes, for a few minutes. I had one day where my ethernet worked perfectly fine where it didn't lose connection at all, but more recently, it doesn't want to stay connected. Pretty much every single time I have run the troubleshooter to find out what the problem was, it comes back with 'default gateway unavailable'. I have tried changing the cables, changing powerline adapters (TP-Link TL-PA411s), updating drivers, reinstalling drivers and nothing has worked. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what the problem is and how I can fix it?

error code 0xc0000225 and Windows installation issues

I have an Asus laptop running Windows 8.1. I intended to wipe it to give it to a friend that needs one right now, as I no longer use this laptop.

I tried first to reset my PC and it said it was unable to due to a missing drive partition.

At this point, I called a friend smarter than me to walk me through how to fix that.

He directed me to use Partition Wizard to set the partition labeled "System" to active and delete the other partitions. So I did.

And then the computer restarted and I got error code 0xc0000225, stating "Your PC needs to be repaired. A required device isnt connected or can't be accessed."

No longer trusting said "smart" friend, I consulted the almighty Google and found results that appeared to show I needed to reinstall Windows. So Some further searching led me to these directions for reinstalling Windows 8 on a computer from a USB drive (as this laptop does not have a CD drive). I got the Windows 8.1 download tool here and used the directions to create an iso file and copy it to the USB drive as directed.

On the Asus laptop, I plugged in the USB and changed the UEFI Firmware Settings to boot from the USB first. I then restarted the laptop and I'm still getting the exact same error message page as before. 

I am perhaps (slightly) more educated than the average computer user, but at this point I am completely lost and unsure of what to do. Can anyone help me figure out what the next steps are?

Where is the system restore in windows 10?

There was a restore option in windows 7 that you could see a previous point after updates were processed that allowed you walk the system back prior to when a malfunction or virus hit a system. What is the process in Windows 10?  If you have not made back ups of your system, is it a full restore of all (except personal files)?

Outlook 2010

 I use Outlook 2010.  My question is about the bottom of my received emails where the sender's name is to the left and the People boxes are to the right.

Below the sender's name is ALL

                                             WHAT'S NEW

                                             MAIL

                                             ATTACHMENTS

                                             MEETINGS

 

No matter which one I click on, the reply states THERE ARE NO ITEMS TO SHOW IN THIS VIEW even though there are items.

Items were displayed in the past and then one day they weren't and I'm not aware of anything I inadvertently changed.

How do I fix the display?

TDR/Freeze issue with Windows 10 Pro From Year 2017 & Going On

This Thread is about a issue that is totally unsolved in WIndows 10 Pro and its been 1year my PC that i use to render stuff is still useless.

The Problem is If You use Motherboard with X79 Chipset with a Direct X12 GPU and Your O.S is a Windows 10 Pro there's a 90% chance u get TDR issue with screen going black with "No Signal" or Your PC just Freeze Up.

Either You Game,Watch Video on Browser or something After Each 2 to 3hrs ur PC will go TDR or Freeze up. its not 3hrs always it can be 5hrs or 20hrs or anytime sooner time is not fixed its very random.


i have investigated it a lot Past 1year and this is not my or our hardware its simply the Drivers from Nvidia and windows 10 pro.

I have tried so many methods like Formatting over 8times This drivers issue is Deeply with the Code in intel chipset and windows 10 Pro, My friend who has same PC as me but has Windows 10 Home he does not face the issue however the only difference is that he uses a DX11 gpu that is GTX 680 and i use a DX12 GPU Titan X.

Recently i tested a Nvidia GT730 where it seems i dont crash but if i use a GPU like titan X i crash afer 3hrs or 10hrs or very random(Do know every hardware is RMAd for that very reason i thought my titan X or PSU or Mobo was at fault but in the end all gave same issue)

I have no idea wat causes the issue but i belive someone should notice it by now since its been 1years and i really dont wann revert back to Windows 7 for this.

My Pc spec:

  • Win 7 Pro Original Version.
  • Core i7 4960X 4Ghz 6Core 8Threads(not a single wear or tear)
  • Asus Rampage IV Black Edition (best Condition Mboo)
  • TItan X Maxwell 12GB Dx12 (Totally new GPU out of the Box by warrnty got new GPU)
  • 32GB Quad Channel DDR3 2400Mhz
  • 6xHDD of Total 10TB Capacity
  • 1xSSD sandisk 512GB
  • Corsair H100i
  • Cooler Master Stryker Case
  • Temps are all below or Under 40C to 50C not more.

Monitors i use:

  • LG W2043T
  • Asus PB298Q
  • Cintiq Pro 16 (But its a drawing tablet mostly used on other PC)

Devices i use:

  • Wacom Cintiq Pro 16
  • Wacom CTL pen Tablet
  • Logitec Gaming G400S Mouse
  • Logitech Gaming Headphone G430
  • HP Photosmart Printed
  • USB Hubs
  • Logitech Game Controller

Things i have Tried in these 1year time Which did not work:

Yes, Contacted Asus Motherboard repair Service to check it out for burnt Capacitors and etc But my Mobo is fine as new.

Yes, I have Replaced My Titan X with new One.

Yes, i have Replaced PSU.

Yes, i have Replaced Rams.

Yes, I have Reinstalled win 10 over 8times.

Yes, i have tried with Not installing other drives and seeing if Drivers conflicted or not.

Yes,My Cpu C state is Off

Yes,My PC is In High Performance mode and not sleeping.

Yes, Scanned my PC with all Expensive AntiVirus Softwares.

Ran AIDA64 Extreme Past 30Min to see if any of my Hardwares were at problem and results are Nope all are fine Tems are under 60C to 70C with AIDA eating away.

In 1 year of time i tried many things u cant imagine and i have my full faith its Nvidia or Intel or Windows Pro Drivers causing this.
