I'm using Mac Excel 2016 version 16.15 (latest version I can download) on a 6 core 2018 MacbookPro using OSX 10.13.6. Am running a number of spreadsheets with large data tables and many macros and have multi-threaded calculation turned on using all my 12 cores. Am using .XLSM file formats.
Opening and running the simulation barely uses more then 12-15% of my CPU capacity and it takes forever to run the simulation. I'd suspect that a multi-threaded setting would use much more of my CPU processing power and shorten waiting times. Am I missing something? Is the multi-threaded functionality specific to certain tasks - ie. not for data table calcs and macros?
Any suggestions on how to maximize CPU process on Mac Excel 2016 would be really appreciated.
Many thanks,
Jorge
