Any help would be hugely appreciated. I am working on a Macbook, with Office 365, version 16.15.
I have a long document, which has lots of cross references in the footnotes. The cross references will, however, not update! The link still works, and takes you to the correct reference when you click it, but the number does not update.
As a result, as soon as I add in a new reference in the document all of the cross references give the wrong number (even when the links actually work!). I've tried the cmd+a, and F9 button, and I've tried clicking 'update fields' in printing options, but to no avail. The update field on right click has simply vanished.
Basically I'm pulling my hair out, and am very close to throwing my laptop into a wall, so any advice/solutions are welcomed - both for my sanity and for to help save my poor laptop!
