Hello,
I have read through other posts but can't seem to find one that is specific to what I am experiencing. So I bought and built a new computer. I installed a purchased copy of Windows 10 onto the device. At first worked fine to use windows edge (I used it to download Chrome day one). After that I was using Chrome exclusively bc that is what I use for work as well. I went to check for updates because hadn't seen any in awhile and noticed it was saying I wasn't connected to the internet. The OS and Edge are not working for internet connection, yet I work from home on Chrome all day using VOIP and all other kinds of internet services, but only through Chrome. I did not setup the network as I moved in with a brother and it's his network. I am at a complete loss as to why I cannot find the network to troubleshoot and fix on my computer, yet the ethernet is plugged in and Chrome is using the network to connect just fine. I've been hesitant to try anything too risky simply because I need the internet to work everyday.
So my question is (now that I have a laptop for backup to work from) is what do I do here? I didn't upgrade from 7 just went straight to 10 on this SSD when I built it new. I would love to get this fixed as I'm hoping it will also fix a recent issue with my mic, which no longer works and opening the Recording Devices menu freezes the window and I have to quit out of it with the Task Manager. Please let me know any suggestions of where to start, this Saturday after work I'll have a day and a half to take the network down if need be before I have to be back online for work Monday so would love to tackle some options then.
Thank you everyone for any help you may have, I've asked around my circle of usually reliable tech friends and no one has put forth much effort to help so I'm turning to you guys. Apologies for being so long-winded btw.
