I have been using the same webcam for a while without issue. It's a lifecam Vx-5000. I was using windows 7 ultimate and everything on the camera worked fine. I updated to windows 10 and obviously it wouldn't work until I updated the drivers. Which
I did. I discovered that my network adapter did not have a windows 10 driver and this crashed my computer with a DPC_Watchdog_violation every now and again. So after trying and failing to figure out how to stop the BSOD I reverted to windows 7 ultimate
as Windows 10 allows you to do that. Once I backdated to windows 7 however. I find that my camera does not work. The microphone registers as an audio input device and functions normally. However if I try to turn on the camera Skype stops responding almost
immediately. Whenever I try to install the Lifecam software I get the error of KB953691. I have tried every method of fixing the issue that is offered when the error code is looked up to no avail. I even tried uninstalling Lifecam but I am given the error
that the installation package is not valid for the product, when I try to search for the MSI file I can't seem to find it anywhere.
