Unable to perform update on Windows 10 laptop

Unable to perform update on Windows 10 laptop. It said, "unable to connect to update server"  I ran the trouble shooter for Windows update and it said, "error in running the trouble shooter". Do you have a solution to an error message when looking up an error message?
