I have installed the latest version of Skype on my brand new Nokia 3 smartphone (Android 7), and am having issues with noise during calls. There is a constant annoying background noise (white noise, but not completely even?) during the call. Muting microphone on either end doesn't help. If I turn down the speaker volume the noise gets less annoying but then I struggle to hear the other end. It doesn't matter if I use the internal speakers or the earphones, the noise is there in both cases.
The other end is an iPad Mini and sits on the same LAN (speed should be good). When I switched to an LG phone, there is no noise. So seems to be something specific to the Nokia phone.
When using the LG however, there is also a background noise, but only when the counterpart is speaking. When he stops speaking, the noise goes away, and there is complete silence, which is must more comfortable. On the Nokia the noise is constantly present during the call, whether or not the counterpart is speaking.
Grateful for any advice. Would like to know if this is an issue with the phone, in which case I might want to return it.
