Austalia: PSTN calling

I beleive MS is waiting on a telco licence for Australia. Given this is australia, this could take forever, and who knows who's trying to block it.

Does anyone know when Microsoft is likely be to offer their hosted Skype for Business PSTN calling here, and when they do, will we have to utilise their numbers and sip trunks?

Our business currently uses a VoIP provider and having been with the company since their conception and knowing all the staff so well now (over ten years) I do not want to leave them. But I do want to direct our SIP to Microsoft.

Given we have the VoIP trunks, I just want the hosted Skype for business pbx to make the entire 365 experience seamless.

Is it possible to get now without deploying a hybrid (local & cloud) solution?
