I have 3 user ids. One uses a Microsoft account and is the Administrator account. The other 2 are local accounts; one that I use (call it MyID) that is password protected and authorized to my data, the other is for everyone else (no password and not
authorized to my data). I was using MyID and signed out when I was finished. Later I went to sign back in and MyID did not show in the user id sign on selection screen. I signed into the Administrator account. The files for MyID were still in the Users
directory. MyID was still in the registry (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE Microsoft Windows NT CurrentVersion ProfileList). The fields in the ProfileList for MyID seemed ok. Went to Control Panel and selected Manage Another Account. MyID did not show up.
Tried to add MyID (add someone use to this PC as a local account) but could not do so - received message Please type a different user name. I then deleted the MyID profile from the ProfileList and renamed the MyID folder. Tried to add MyID as a local account.
Received message Please type a different user name. Currently in the process of creating a USB and will do a fresh install of W 10.
