Ever since I bought my Yoga 12 with Windows 10 I cannot use the "re-start" function on the start menu power button. It goes onto one Lenovo start screen, then a second and then black and does nothing.
Therefore, I never use "restart". Which is annoying as a workaround but workable.
However, whenever Windows 10 does an update that requires me to shut down, the same thing happens.
I have worked out how to break out of the "start" process and get to the advanced set up area. I then do one or more of the following:
- "Exit and continue to windows": rarely works but did this morning
- "troubleshoot" start up : works most of the time - sometimes just saying it can't find anything wrong and me turning off and on or by following some process
- Finally, on two occassions I've had to resort to restoring to a saved restore point. The first time I did this it said it hadn't worked but it had actually worked, and the second time I did this it just worked.
However, I now quake in fear whenever I see Windows needs to update and I have time to write on a forum to see if there is a solution.
I will also pose this question on a Lenovo Yoga Forum but if anyone on here has had the same issue and can let me know who to resolve it I would appreciate it.
