I am concerned as I received an email from Microsoft stating that there had been some suspicious activity that resulted in a security challenge. Sure enough when I checked the IP address for the security challenge, it was from an IP address in Hungary, very far from where I am.
I am concerned I have been hacked as I recently purchased some tickets online for an event in Hungary.
i have changed my password now and will cancel my bank card but what I am wanting to know - does security challenge mean that someone has actually managed to successfully get into my account? Or have they just tried and hit the second security stage and failed?
I am very concerned and unsure what next steps to take if they have managed to get in, or whether it was just an unsuccessful attempt.
Any info would be great.
