I have recently been playing a game purchased on the windows store and noticed that none of my saves were in the game even after playing it for a minute i come back to a completely fresh game which is not the problem but the real problem was found when I thought that maybe there is an update and that will fix this small issue of mine. So I go to the windows store and look for updates and sure enough there is an update for the game and a couple other apps. I try to update the apps and return with the Error code 0x80070003 I have looked through many forums and have tried many fixes with no fix to my current situation.
The fixes I have tried to start off was running sfc/scannow which did find some corrupt files and was able to repair with dism /online yet problem 0x80070003 still persists.
Then saw another fix of trying to run app troubleshooter, this came back with no results for errors moving on.
Next was the windows update troubleshooter which came back with no errors as well so moving on again
Next was the go to C:\windows\softwaredistribution\datastore and deleting any edb logs in that folder while having windows update service turned off then restarting the service after the deletion of these logs. Then restarting computer and trying the update yet again, yet still error 0x80070003
By this time I am getting quite frustrated and really dont want to reset my computer as I have a lot of applications installed and would take me days to reinstall them all but next fix I tried was
Type: net stop wuauserv
Hit Enter
Type: ren c:\windows\SoftwareDistribution softwaredistribution.old
Hit Enter
Type: net start wuauserv
Hit Enter
This didnt even work properly so now I am out of options and cant think of anything else to do other than a restore and that will not be fun so if that could be avoided would be great
