windows update won't get install
i am using an insider preview version of windows 10, and its been more then 3 months I been facing this updating issue, I have asked help from Microsoft tech support also they couldn't fix it, what happens is updates will get downloaded and it will get
installed but when it reboots and try to configure updates it wont happen it will restart again as it is and then I'll receive a message saying windows update couldn't be installed. I have no idea what is happening from few months ?

mouse issue while playing games
so i am playing star wars the old republic and more often than not the the directional controls switch to the mouse and some commands work on the keyboard but for some reason the i go out hit task manager and have to change the display settings and
then reset them to get it to work right. so i am not sure what is wrong and how to fix it.

Windows Update Keep Installing Synaptics Driver on my Non-Synaptics Dell XPS 15z
Hi all,
So for some reason, Windows Update keeps automatically installing the Synaptics trackpad driver on my old Dell XPS 15z that's running Windows 10 Pro even though the laptop has a Cypress trackpad and the driver for it is already installed. The Synaptics driver breaks the multi-finger gestures and functionalities of the trackpad. I tried manually just uninstalling the driver but Windows Update just automatically reinstalls it at a later point. How do I override Windows Update for this?

MpCmdRun killing my internet connection after installing creators update
I was trying to game after installing the creators update but my ping was horrendous. After opening resource monitor I noticed that MpCmdRun was maxing my upload bandwidth. Yes, upload, which besides being really annoying, is a bit concerning that it's sending large amounts of data from my computer somewhere. It's had to have uploaded multiple hundreds of megabytes by now.
If you're wondering, MpCmdRun is a process related to Windows Defender, at least according to google (err, bing?).

Windows 10 Start Menu Shortcuts missing
Hi,
Could please someone help me with the problem I'm encountering with Windows 10 Start menu shortcuts.
I do have an installer run through Microsoft Systems Management Server Installer.
I have a command line that when the machine is having Win10, it will copy the shortcuts - '<installer path>\Shortcuts\*' to 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders\Common Start Menu\Programs\MyApplication 2'.
After installation, when I checked Start menu\All apps, I am missing some shortcuts. I checkedC:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\MyApplication 2 directory and it does contains the missing shortcuts. The shortcuts I think were only around 200+, so I think I am not beyond in the allowed limit for no. of shortcuts.
Next is I trimmed down the no. of shortcuts from the installer to 15 only (but the missing shortcuts previously were included) to prove this. After install, shortcuts forMyApplication 2 were reduced, but still the missing shortcuts were not included inAll apps.
What is weirder is I have the same installer process for MyApplication 1 and it is displaying all shortcuts inAll apps\Programs\MyApplication 1.
Could please someone help or advise me on how to deal with this?

HTML paste to Excel, won't write a blank line
We have used HTML to transfer complex formatted tables via the clipboard to Excel for years. This has suddenly failed.
Copy/paste the following HTML to a blank Excel sheet.

No second row appears, and the merged table cells are at the wrong position, A2:A3 instead of A3:A4.
If I supply some content for the second row, then the row appears. The problem is a <BR> on its own no longer gives a blank line.
But this is OK:

<BR>
This should be the fourth line<BR>
</HTML>
So it's something about the context, not just the behaviour of <BR>.
Our tests on older machines/Excel installs show
Office 2010 (14,0,7181.5000) OK
Office 2016 (16.0.6326.1010) OK
Office 2016 (16.0.7927.1024) Fails
We are using Win10, always latest OS and Office16/365.
Any advice much appreciated.

My HP laptop with windows 7 often crashed when I upgraded to Windows 10. So I reset it to the original status and updated it using Windows Update. It took many hours to finish approximately 200 updates. Then I restarted it, but after 17 days it's still

IE 11 for Windows 10: 64 or 32 bit?
I feel like IE from Program Files and Program Files (x86) are the same. I have pretty much the same case as https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie11-iewindows_10/internet-explorer-11-64-bit-for-windows-10/92f38749-f370-4795-93d5-5d5a46e742cd but I'll restate and go a little more into it.
So when I open IE from both Program Files and Program Files (x86), they both seem exactly the same. Going to "Help> About Internet Explorer" shows the same thing. There is no 64 bit or 32 bit indicator for either.
Now the solution for the thread says that "About" does not indicate bitness anymore, and that I should check Task Manager. Task Manager is supposed to indicate what bitness it is. Here's a quote from the solution:
"64-bit IE11 will appear as iexplore.exe.
32-bit IE11 will appear as iexplore.exe *32."
For me, opening IE from both file locations opens up the exact same process. Neither About nor Task Manager indicates the whether it is 64 bit or 32 bit. It says "iexplore.exe" for both. Judging from the quote, that means both are 64 bit.
But here's an issue with that. I am trying to run 64 bit Java, but it does not work for IE opened from both file locations. When I install 32 bit Java, it works, regardless of which IE I opened. I've even tried copying 64 bit Java from Program Files to Program Files (x86), but it doesn't work.
Why do both programs seem exactly the same, and why does 32 bit Java work but not 64 bit when the process name indicates that it should be 64 bit IE?
I am using Windows 10 64 bit Home.
