Hello!
On 4/23/17, an update (Creators Update Privacy Settings for x64-based Systems (KB4013214)) failed to install on my Acer laptop. According to my update history, it had attempted and failed about twenty times. It also attempted to install a Cumulative update
(Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB4015438)), and failed about 8 times. Every update since has been installed fine, but my computer has had several issues.
First of all, the touch screen and two of my USB ports no longer respond. When looking at the hidden devices in my device manager, several devices (including the touch screen and USB ports) are grayed out. Looking at the properties, it says that the devices
are not connected (code 45).
Secondly, attempting to shut down my computer will turn off the screen, but the computer stays on until the battery dies, or a hard reset with the power button. This also happens when I attempted to go into sleep mode. When I turn the computer back on, the
Acer loading screen will pop up, but will stay like that indefinitely. I will have to hard reset, and attempt to boot again until the loading wheel appears and the computer boots as usual.
Lastly, I have tried to reset my PC by reinstalling windows, but it fails around 66% of the way loading. I have not yet tried to boot from a USB.
Please let me know if anybody has encountered this issue before, and what I may be able to do to fix it. My PC is still usable right now, but I would really like to restore it to its previous condition, as it causes quite a bit of trouble.
Thank you,
Spencer
