After downloading and installing the creators update which was a very smooth process, I booted it up and had a look at the new features. I was all well and good until I installed a new piece of software.
The software's shortcut was in the "new apps" part of the start menu, which was normal, but when I searched for the shortcut using the search from the start menu, the shortcut didn't come up. It was in the start menu folder, but the search bar couldn't find
it, like it wasn't refreshing. I tried to re-index, to no avail. After that, I uninstalled another piece of software. Again, the shortcut was removed from the start menu's apps list but when I searched for it, it still came up. If I tried to click on it, it
wouldn't do anything. Right-click neither.
I have tried restarting, ending the "Cortana" process and re-indexing.
Help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers!
EDIT:
Also, if I remove Cortana using powershell, then log-in as another user and delete %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_cw5n1h2txyewy, go back in as my normal user, reinstall Cortana and search
for my programs, the latest programs now come up, BUT if I install or uninstall something, the problem is still present.
