Hi.
Since my account was moved from Hotmail.com to Outlook.com, nothing at all comes to my Inbox - everything only goes to Junk, and a lot of emails just don't arrive at all. No bounce message to the sender, nor do they show in either Inbox or Junk. This has
been since about November 2016.
I have been through the Junk options at Outlook.com, and it was set to Exclusive mode, which looked like it explained the problem (at least in part - the stuff that was coming through going to Junk, but doesn't explain the stuff not appearing at all). I
changed this, and it made no difference.
Adding people to Safe senders makes no difference either.
I then installed a trial of the Outlook 2016 desktop application onto my computer, since I know that Outlook.com uses Exchange Server, and I thought this might expose some more server-side Junk Filter options that could fix the probem.
After setting up my hotmail/outlook.com account in Outlook 2016, I went to Junk E-mail Options, and what do I see? - it shows "Safe Lists Only - everything not in a Safe list will go to Junk". So this means Outlook 2016 is seeing that 'Exclusive Mode' (as
outlook.com calls it) is still enabled on the mailbox. I change the option in Outlook to "No Automatic Filtering", or "Low", and hoped that this would push to the server and fix the problem, but nope... my email is buggered, anything that does come in just
goes to Junk folder.
I've looked at Rules both online at outlook.com , and through Outlook 2016. I have tried "outlook /cleanserverrules" just in case there was some sort of hidden server-side rule that wasn't showing up, aaaand... nope. It no worky.
I have had a Microsoft rep onto the computer to try to help (after phoning them), and they installed Firefox (on this Windows 7 / Internet Explorer 11 PC.. ) to see if that would help. Well, I'm reaching out here because I'm really looking for someone who
knows what they are doing so that they can look at the back end mailbox settings to fix what is wrong, because I'm pretty sure there is nothing on the user-side that can fix this, after trying all that we have tried.
Please can somebody fix this for me? We have done a lot of testing at our end, from various different email sources, to both my orignal @hotmail.com address and my new @outlook.com address, and it's simply broken.
Thanks for reading.
