Issue: Outlook hanging repeatedly on my desktop PC. I am able to consistently reproduce the problem by opening certain emails, but it can happen at any time. The only common feature of the emails is that they contain embedded images. The same emails
open fine in webmail and on iOS. Occurring across both my home and office PCs. After first hang, attempting to reopen Outlook causes instant crash at startup that persists even into safe mode. ScanPST throws up errors every time the PST is scanned even
immediately after running the repair. Sometimes opening Outlook after repairing the PST causes instant crash at startup.
Troubleshooting attempted:
1. updated office, win 10 & graphics drivers. Office 2016 Pro Plus v.1705 (build 8201.2102). Win 10 Creators 1703 (build 15063.413). Nvidia 382.53
2. disabled all add-ins
3. turned of Graphics Hardware acceleration
4. turned of Live preview
5. OffCAT scan shows some minor errors. None of which adequately explain the problem. Logs available.
6. Uninstalled MalwareBytes, Updated Teamviewer in case of software interference
7. Chkdsk: no errors
8. Quick repair
9. Full repair
10. Uninstall and reinstall from DVD
11. Created new profile
12. Multiple runs of ScanPST. Logs available.
Running out of ideas, any help would be appreciated. At the moment Outlook too unstable to be used reliably.
