I am using my home computer that was a custom build. The business that built it is now out of business.
Operating System: Windows 7 Professional.
Microsoft Office: Home and Student 2010
I am trying to locate my Microsoft Office Single Image 2010 file. When I try to download Service Pack 2 for Office 2010, I get a window that opens stating, "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable." Click OK to try
again or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'SingleImageWW.msi' in the box below.
I did a search on my computer using the search box on the start menu for the SingleImageWW.msi file. When that produced nothing, I expanded the search to the entire computer. That search produced no items that matched my search.
I don't know where the file is. I do have the product key and 2 of the three remaining disks from the Family Pack to reinstall it, but don't know how to use them (please see question #2 below). Having read some of the responses to other questions, you
should know that I am a novice at this point, and a lot of technical jargon will likely confuse me. So I think I have 3 questions.
1.) Is there some other place or way I should search to locate the file so I can enter the alternate path?
2.) If it cannot be found, how do I use the product key/disks to reinstall it, and will that reinstallation delete any of my personal files, i.e. documents, pictures and videos? If so do I have to save all the files i.e. my docs, photos and videos from
"my computer" to another device? Is there a way around having to do that?
3.) Did I leave out any needed information to fix this problem?
I did check out the content that came up matching my question, but the closest one stated I may have the "trial version" only. I do not believe this is possible because I have used this program on this computer for at least 5 years.
Thank you so much for your time and effort,
Jenny
