I wanted to make a Microsoft account to be able to use the more finer aspects of Lenovo: Windows XP updated to Windows 8, so I went online and reached the submission form which I had to fill out. Now, as soon as I filled in my name, input an email and a password ( I input an email which is not real/ not made yet/ fake ) and decided not to make an account. So I exit by pressing that little 'x' on the upper right of the screen. I did Power Off> Sleep. Later when my father switched on the laptop to log on for an online conference which was very important, the startup screen showed my name and asked for a password typical of the login screens. Before that the screen used to show ( USERNAME ) and we didn't use a password. I did NOT submit the submission form, so how should I log in to my laptop? The only option left for me is to reset my laptop, but why did this problem happen?

change the login background picture in windows 10
Ive been messing with windows 10 for a couple of days, and i decided to see if there was a way to hard change (edit the reg. settings, and the files in windows) the back ground picture for the login screen in windows 10. I followed the steps i used in
windows 7 to change it (i will never touch windows 8) , and while to process worked the same way, the picture didn't change. While i did change the lock screen, i have not been able to get the login background. Has anyone else attempted this, and been able
to succeed? if so please respond on how its done. Thanks.

Microsoft Band Syncing Problems
My Microsoft Band stopped syncing with my Lumia 1020 again this morning. This happened late last week and is happening today. When I run the Microsoft Health app, all of the modules say "Updating" but eventually just say "Couldn't load the data. Please try again later." The Band is connected to the phone as i can see it when I select "My Microsoft Band" in the app (and vice versa, when I check the settings on the Band, it is paired to my phone).
When I manually select the "Sync with Band" in the app, I get the error message "Network Error." I don't know why a Network Error would affect the syncing with the Band. Regardless, the phone is connected to the network via WiFi and Celluar.
Also, when I originally got the Band, while it was syncing, the Band would read "Syncing." This doesn't happen even when it appears to be syncing. Did something change?
Lastly, please create a new category for Microsoft Band questions.

Windows 10 No Sound
So i recently installed Windows 10 Technical Preview build 9926 on my HP Laptop.
I was fairly excited to test Cortana and the little new features it added, and i must say I like it. However when i got it up and running there was a little X on my speaker icon, so i can not get sound to work. I tried to disable and re-enable the driver, update it. I even had Windows try to automatically fix it and it said there was an issue. I am using Realtek HD Audio if that has anything to do with it. Help?

Will Windows Hello Support Non-WBF Fingerprint Readers
Unless special third-party software is used, Windows 8.1 will not allow fingerprint login to a Microsoft Account unless the reader use Windows Biometric Framework drivers. Unfortunately, several devices, such as the very popular DigitalPersona U are U
4500 external USB fingerprint reader, do not have WBF drivers available for them. Without WBF drivers, current WIndows 10 Tech Preview (as well as Windows 8.1) will not recognize the reader in PC sign-in options settings. Will Windows Hello (and Windows
Passport) still require fingerprint readers with only WBF drivers, or will they also be able to support non-WBF fingerprint readers?

Windows 10 Upgrade Version
I think it is wonderful that Microsoft is releasing a free upgrade to a new operating system, this will be good for Microsoft's image. GOOD JOB!
I understand that many questions are already asked, but I have one that has not been asked.
I followed all the instructions in the 'Get Windows 10' app. The reservation is set I think, but I do not know what version of the Windows 10 I have on reservation. Currently I am running Windows 7 Pro (SP1) and I understand I will be getting Windows 10 Pro from what the website Q&A tells me. But I wish to verify that, the "Check your upgrade status" does not tell me the version I will be receiving, it just tells me "All done for now". Please can you add or verify to the users as to what version of Windows 10 they will be receiving.
I have other questions but other users have posted them.

I wish to know if I am able to create a hard copy of the Windows 10 upgrade so I may reinstall it in the case of hardware/software failures, perhaps on some other media format like a CD DVD DISK, or USB FLASH DRIVE, Or an additional internal/external hard drive, or any other form of media.
Also I wish to know about Installation keys, if applicable in Windows 10.
Also will I be able to partition my drives during installation with this upgrade?

Windows 10 store won't open.
The store in Windows 10 won't open. Before this Cortana didn't work so I reset it and all the apps started working but after some time now the store app is not working.

Why doesn't my profile have an "insider" label under my name?
As a matter of interest, why do a large number of contributors to this forum have the "insider" label under their names, and yet mine does not? I've been posting here for a long time, having first joined the insider program in Oct/Nov 2014. Not a major issue but I'm wondering what I need to do to get this label?

I recive a error: 0xb103010F.
I try for aprox. 2 weeks to install this app from Store:
Start download 14,7 MB, Installing... The installing bar go to 100% and after that I get that error.
I use lumia 640XL
This error start from an update for Microsoft Photo plug-in. I don't know exactly what this app will do.

I had 'Speech for phone accessibility' working nn my Windows 8.1 phone. I recenty upgraded my phone to Windows 10 and this option no longer exists. Why?
I live in the US and my language, region, keyboard, and speech are all set to English (United States). I have a steering wheel speaker phone in my car. It was nice as it told me who was calling. Now, I have to look at the caller's phone number on the device and determine who is calling. This needs to be looked at; not later, not soon, but NOW! After all it was a working function and is no longer. My phone is a Nokia Lumia 635.

Specified resource type cannot be found in the image file
Recently upgraded to Windows 10.
I have a Canon MP620 printer. I do not have problems printing but recently started receiving following error message when I try to scan documents: "The specified resource type cannot be found in the image file."
I am using Canon's printer utilities to scan. I checked Canon's web site: drivers are up-to-date.
I installed another scan program and get the exact same error message.
I do not get the error message with Windows Scan but that program scans only one page at a time.

Exportar o Catálogo de Endereços do Windows 7 para outro computador com Windows 10
Tenho um PC novo com o Windows 10, que agora armazena o catálogo de endereços no diretório "Pessoas". Importei para esse PC o catálogo de endereços de outro PC com Windows 7 no formato ".csv" e arquivei o conteúdo na pasta "Contatos" conforme recomendações
da Microsoft. Ocorre que esses dados não são compartilhados com o "Pessoas". Configurei os emails que estão funcionando OK, mas não consigo acessar os endereços armazenados. Peço ajuda para resolver esse problema pois as informações que a Microsoft divulga
são insuficientes e não esclarecem como resolver essa questão.

One Drive . Trying to delete Files
I have some photos sent to me BEFORE I had this phone and are now sitting in 'Shared' Files on One Drive. I want to delete then but the delete icon is not in bold and I cannot remove these photos. Help

Jeg har fra en stationær med fast forbindelse oprettet en hjemmegruppe i et privat netværk.
Fra den ene laptop som kører wifi får jeg meddelelsen, der kan ikke konfigureres en hjemmegruppe på denne computer.
Jeg har læst og prøvet alt hvad der findes om emnet, men intet hjælper.
Fejlfinding hjemmegrp. og netværk melder om ingen problemer.
Er det fordi det er samme bruger begge steder?
Jeg kan se computerne på privatnetværket, og jeg har adgang til delte mapper på begge.
Alle kører Win10 og på laptop(Lenovo Y50) har jeg lavet en ominstallering uden det hjalp.
Jeg har samme problem som i denne tråd MartinAagaard78 stillet den hvor tjenesterne:
Gruppering af Peer... og PNRP - Peer name... kan ikke køre!
Gruppering giver fejl 1068, og PNRP giver fejl 0x80630203 Der kan ikke opnås adgang til en nøgle.
Jeg har prøvet med en anden bruger, hjalp ikke.
Jeg har ominstalleret WIN10 en gang, hjælper ikke.
I den anden tråd står der nogle kommandoer som kan køres ved Windowstast+x:
Windows tasten + x og vælg kommandoprompt (administrator)
- Skriv - dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth og tryk på enter, vent på kommandoen er færdig.
- Skriv - sfc /scannow og tryk på enter
Det tager lang tid og jeg fandt ud at den første ikke rigtig viser om den kører, men morgenen efter var den færdig. Så kørte jeg scanningen og den afsluttede med: "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."
Det har ikke løst problemet!

I updated my office 8 to office 10. Now I can't get into any of my files, I think due to conversion. I must have done something. I uninstalled office 10 and reinstalled 8. I still can't open my files. The error message I get is "Excel can not open file XXX because the file format or file extension is not valid. Verify that the file has not been corrupted and that the file extension matches the format of the file" . How do I do this?
