I have a spreadheet which, on opening, says "This workbook contains links to one or more external sources that ccould be unsafe." It offers the usual options: update, don't update, help.
The links are allegedly to another spreadheet of mine, of which the current one is a substantially altered version (originating over a year ago). But this warning about links is recent. I have been unable to think of any recent change which might have caused this problem.
If I use "Edit links" it offers me options to break links or change source. I have tried both of those things. They make no difference whatever The alleged link remains unchanged. The irritating thing is the Excel is not prepared to tell me where this link is located in this spreadsheet.
After reading many opinions on the web I have:
exhaustively searched cells and formulae in all 20 worksheets
examined every conditional formatting rule
inspected every defined name
searched the code of each one of my twelve macros.
No external reference can be found.
I have made sure that all worksheets are uprotected.
Can anyone suggest some other actions? Could this be to do with styles?
