Permissions problem in Outlook 2011 for Mac
This is just the latest chapter in a series of Outlook 2011 screwups since I upgraded to Sierra on my MacBook Air last year - one thing after another. This time it started with the Search function: no matter what I searched for, all I get is "No results" when I can see the emails right in front of me.
OK, so I go to this community, which has been incredibly helpful in the past - like just recently when I couldn't get email on my MacBook Air/Sierra at all. This is my travel computer, and I'm traveling now, so it's important. Anyway, I read something about not having permissions. I do a Get Info, and it's true - both System and Admin say "read only." I don't know how it got like this - I've been using email on this computer for the last week with no problem. The only change was a Sierra update on May 27 - 5 days ago. Outlook kept working as usual after the update. Well, except that it wouldn't search, and then I saw the permissions issue.
So I give permissions to System and Admin. Whoa! All of a sudden Outlook tells me it has to close because of an unspecified error and that I have to rebuild. Which is what I'm doing now.
So while I'm waiting, I decide to open Apple Mail. It tells me it can't open because "you don't have the necessary permissions to change the folder where it saves information." But I check that folder, and I DO have permissions. OK, so I try to go on the Apple community to ask about this. Guess what - it emails me an authorization code. Which I can't get because, no email. I'm going to try webmail, but meanwhile...
Can anybody tell me what's going on with Outlook? And would changing permissions for Outlook somehow mess with the Mail permissions? I've never had permissions problems in all the years I've been using Outlook for Mac - I guess since Office 97 (?). Now it's one disaster after another.
UPDATE: "Your database could not be rebuilt. [-5000]
grrr....It doesn't help that I have multiple Main Identities - 8 of them, 7 of which have backed up and date modified dates, and one that has only a date modified - and that was more than a year ago, while the most recent backup was May 17.
And when I try to open Outlook again, it tells me, "Outlook cannot open some of the files it needs to start. Please check your file and folder permissions." When I click on Learn More, it tells me to do a Get Info for MSFT User Data and "Use the Sharing & Permissions pane to assign permissions to the current user." Get Info shows System has Read & Write, while Admin has only read. Should I change Admin to read & write? When I did this specifically for Outlook, Outlook had to close because of an error and I had to rebuild. Which failed.
So I tried Word. "Word cannot save or create this file. The disk may be full or write-protected." Well, the disk isn't full. This must be linked to the above issue in Outlook where System was Read & Write but Admin was Read Only. And I don't know what to do for Outlook or Word because giving permission to Admin and System in Outlook led me to the rebuild database failure.
But Word is already Read & Write for System and Admin! And right now Word is especially vital because I'm working on a book.
I'm going in circles here.
If anybody replies, I'll have to get it from webmail. Though the authorization code Apple sent me hasn't shown up there...

Folders that suddenly showed up on system
I have folders that are now in my user folder. Here are list of folders:
.LSC
.MCTranscodingSDK
.oracle_jre_usage
.QtWebEngineProcess
I havent done any downloading on this computer besides Windows updates and Microsoft updates. What are these folders? Can they be deleted?

Creating a task from email in outlook 2016 for mac

hey chris, i know this is an old question but i wanted to revisit it. on pcs i see that you can drag an email onto the task bar to create a task, but that doesnt seem to be possible on mac. i think the problem here is that tasks and follow ups are fundamentally different for outlook. i want to sync those tasks with ios/mac reminders, but that app only takes tasks (rather than follow ups). would appreciate if microsoft would consider making it possible on a mac to create tasks directly from outlook

Black box appears and disappears very quickly. Doesn't appear to be virus/malware but a windows program coding box.
I'm not at all good with computers. I do know how to avoid virus/malware and the past week about every hour or so a black command box appears and very quickly disappears. I do not know how to get rid of it. Whenever I am doing something such as playing
a game it will appear and mess me up. It's more worrisome than it is annoying though and I want answers. But as stated previously I am not good with computers so try to be very specific when describing the problem. It is greatly appreciated thank you!

Personen/contacten lumia950
Tijdens het openen van mijn contacten sluit deze direct weer af. Ik heb de lumia al regelmatig afgesloten en opnieuw opgestart en zelfs de batterij verwijderd. Deze acties hebben helaas niet geholpen.
Iemand een idee of moet ik terug naar mijn fabrieksinstellingen met als gevolg op nieuw inregelen.

Hey team, we need assistance on how to set up this application.
We have turn the feature on thru the Services & add-ins, however after that we are unable to see the Application added or a way to set it up.
We have tried to follow the instructions on these sites:

hola, active mi win 10 con una licencia comprada online y me dijeron que no hiciera cambios de hardware por que ya no funcionara la licencia, pero como instale por usb se me olvido conectar el reproductor de DVD, si lo conecto quedara invalidada mi licencia?

Microsoft Lumia 950 start steeds overnieuw op
Ik ben in het bezit van een mooie Microsoft Lumia 950 ben er heel tevreden over helaas werkt hij nu niet meer, er is een automatische update binnen gekomen en nu kom ik niet verder dan de eerst opstart zie Microsoft staan dit blijft ongeveer 1 minuut staan en zou dan door moeten starten met de Windows vlag maar schakelt op dat moment geheel uit, je kan dan de startknop opnieuw indrukken en de hele cyclus herhaald zich. Heb de Lumia aangesloten op mijn PC dan maakt hij verbinding maar verbreekt deze ook weer (komt dus niet in zicht) Micro SD kaart en ook mijn telefoon kaart verwijderd helpt ook niet.
Wie o Wie kan mij helpen.
Wacht in spanning af.

cercando di farmi una copia su chiave USB esce lo sgradevole messaggio in oggetto e appunto: Codice di errore 0xC1800103 - 0x90002
Leggendo sul Web, sembra che sia un problema ricorrente e domando cortesemente se sia stato individuato un modo standard per risolverlo.
Esce anche quando provo un'installazione direttamente sul PC.

Ich habe den Namen eines Benutzers unter Windows 10 geändert.
Die Daten für diesen Benutzer sind aber immer noch unter dem alten Pfadnamen vorhanden, der sich nicht gändert hat
C:\Benutzer\Seminar
Ich möchte den Pfadnamen SEMINAR in den neuen Benutzernamen ändern.
Es wäre schön, wenn mir jemand eine Step by Step Anleitung geben könnte.

Skype Audio

Ruckler / Gedenksekunden beim Lumia 950
Hallo!
Vor einer Weile habe ich festgestellt, dass mein Lumia alle 2 bis 20 min sporadisch Ruckler macht. Das heißt 5sek bis 10sek Standbild und dann geht's weiter. Das tritt in allen Situationen auf. Während ich das hier schreibe, oder beim Spielen oder surfen, Fotos durchsehen, sogar auf Start. In der Zeit eines solchen Standbilds reagiert auch nicht die Navigationsleiste (nur Feedback). Die Aktionen der Navigationsleiste kommt erst, wenn sich das Standbild wieder aufgelöst hat.
Aufgetreten ist das Problem erstmals im Zeitraum folgender Tätigkeiten vor drei Wochen:
- Facebook-App installiert
- Messenger-App (Facebook) installiert
- Insider-Update erstmals installiert (10.0.15063.297)
Da ich mir nicht mehr zu helfen wusste, habe ich sämtliche Apps deinstalliert, Backup durchgeführt und anschließend Hardreset mit Backup durchgeführt. Schon vor dem einspielen des Backups (Datum, Region etc auswählen) ist der Fehler aufgetreten, weshalb ich einen Fehler im Backup ausschließen kann.
Insider Build ist nicht mehr installiert. Aktuell ist es 10.0.15063.237
