Ok... I have just had to reinstall everything on a new HD in my Laptop... all working Fine... I have just set up my MS Office 2010 and all is good .. except MS Outlook.... I did have aproblem a day or two ago with Skype but that was resolved... There was a Password Conflict between my Skype Password and my MS (Everything Password) [except Skype it seems and maybe changes to Hotmail now Outlook.com for emails????]... Confusion in my mind and a few others soon I think; if they have to reinstall anything!!!...
That's the problem! In a nutshell.... I can log onto MS on line for my hotmail and my password is accepted.. no probs... I now have no conflict and am not chasing my tail with conflict of passwords between MS and Skype... Somebody should make announcements about these things.. Maybe send an email Broadcast to all users?? That way we' would know that Passwords for Skype and MS have to be the same... Now for MS Hotmail.com or is it Outlook.com .... ? ... I ahve configured everything for POP3 in Outlook for my Hotmail download of emails with emails to be left on the server ( that also was a bit confusing as Most other providers use POP to delete emails off the server after they have been down loaded!)... and use IMAP for download and leave emails on the server... but never mind... I understand MS is different.....
I have configured my emails from Gmail and from a Google Apps account and have those up and running in outlook on my desktop all running smoothly.. No problems... abit of redaing but configuring went smoothly ... No holdups because the "Password I use on line to access the emails on line also worked to connect to the server and download the emails to my Outlook Inbox for the respective email addresses..... As did Microsofts Hotmail emails until my HD failed and I had to reinstall everything on a new one... So Gmail and Google Apps works fine with MS Outlook 2010 but MS Hotmail doesn't.... Hummmmm???
I have tried a number of different ways to configure this and work around the problem, as have a number of others that work in the Industry setting up Servers and routers and configuring peoples computers... but all have been stumped by this problem.... Whatever way we go... whether its MSE or POP3.live or whatever.... Hotmail or Outlook as the server handling the emails there is a conflict with The PASSWORD I use to enter Hotmail Live and to connect with Skype and buy Credit on line etc. etc. etc and the PASSWORD that is required by the various servers to access my email from my remote Desktop....
Could someone Please check into this problem and Sort it out... so that others don't have the same problem... If they have a HD failure and don't want to buy a New Computer or Laptop and update all their software etc. etc. etc.... I suspect that as long as the exhange of information is configured already and the communication has been established... that the Password conflict may not show up until there is a new configuration required with slightly different protocols... But I'm only an ancient babe in arms!!... heheheh!.... Help!!!!!
