I have an Acer Aspire X1440 desktop currently running Windows 10 Home 64 bit Version 14393.1066
The Creators Update downloaded and configured OK but the installation freezes at 87%. I have run sfc /scannow in an elevated command prompt and no integrity violations were reported. I have also run the WU Troubleshooter but this hasn't fixed it either.
I have also renamed the Software Distribution folder to SoftwareDistribution.old and deleted the $WINDOWS-BT folder. A fresh download followed and this too resulted in the installation freezing at 87%. I have removed the Bluetooth usb dongle for my mouse and
just left the PS2 keyboard and loudspeakers connected, again with the same freezing at 87%.
I have carried out numerous update/installations of this Creators Update (each freezing at 87% on installation) as after the failed update/installation it restores the previous version and automatically downloads and installs the update yet again without
the ability to be able to stop it!
I have looked at the setuperr log file in the Sources/panther folder and copied the contents here. Unfortunately I am not experienced enough to interpret the log; perhaps somebody more experienced than I am may be able to help here.
