PPSX and PPTX files from my MAC cannot be opened on other computers. What is going on?

Hi, I am a freelance designer and have a client that is constantly requesting PowerPoints for sales presentations. I have a huge volume of work with this client and am running the risk of loosing the contract if I cannot solve this issue.

I work with MAC and I have the latest version of PowerPoint for Mac installed on my machine (Version 15.30 - 2017).

The designs are very simple, in fact most of the slides are just pre-designed JPGs exported from InDesign and imported into PowerPoint. FYI I do not link the files, they are embedded to document. There are however also some templates that have been designed in PowerPoint so they can be edited by client. I share the files with my client through Dropbox. When she downloads the files be it either in PPTX or PPSX format she simply cannot open them. They are not recognized by her PowerPoint which runs on a PC. Initially we thought it was because she had an old version of PowerPoint installed so she updated and it still couldn't read the files. She tried opening the files on other machines including another MAC and could not open the files on any of them.

As you can imagine I am racking my brain trying to figure out what the issue is and am drawing a blank every time. I need help to solve this problem urgently as deadlines are looming. I am even thinking about purchasing a PC just for working with PowerPoint.

Before someone mentions it I have also tried creating presentations in Apple Keynote and exporting to PowerPoint and exactly the same problem!!

Can somebody please help and tell me why this is happening and how I can solve it. Thanks in advance.

Добрый день.

У меня есть большая проблема .Когда я общаюсь в скайпе или открываю какие то программы ,через 10 -15 минут у меня отключается интернет .Происходит это ежедневно.Вирусов никаких нет. Что делать даже не знаю смотрела на разных сайтах но ответа так и не нашла .Помогите пожалуйста.

Finally got Office 365 for Mac installed and activated. Created an Excel document and saved as a .xlsx. Little did I know it defaults to a password protected file. I have never had that issue in the past by saving as a workbook (.xlsx). Can someone please tell me how to find my password to unlock that file? I desperately need to open that document.

My HP scanner (part of an all-in-one) used to work just fine under Windows 10. However, after the most recent Windows update, I can no longer scan from the scanner's control panel, nor can I scan using the manufacturer's desktop utility [either way, I get the error "the HP OfficeJet Pro 6970 was not found"] (my model is actually 6978). I am, however, able to scan using a web-based method. Also, interestingly enough, I can still print just fine, so my computer is definitely still communicating with my all-in-one (it's a wireless connection that works via my router).

A guy from HP helped me online for about an hour and eventually told me that he was unable to resolve the problem for me. He tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software and that still didn't help. I definitely have the most up-to-date driver for my all-in-one. When he clicked on wiaacmgr.exe, the following error message comes up: No scanner is installed. Install a scanner and try scanning again.

I also tried the HP Print and Scan Doctor, which does recognize my all-in-one, but when I click on "Fix Scanning", I got a message saying "The Device Manager is reporting an error. You should uninstall and then reinstall the device software." As I mentioned above, the guy from HP who helped me already tried that, and that didn't help.

If I go to the device manager, and find my all-in-one under "Imaging devices", there is a caution triangle by the device. I tried updating the driver, but I got a message saying that I have the most up-to-date driver for the printer.

If I go to "printers and scanners" and click on my all-in-one, I see "Driver Error". I do see a choice to "Open printer app". From there, I am taken to "HP AiO Printer Remote", and from there, I can in fact scan, but I never used to use this app before. If this is somehow a replacement desktop app for the printer, that would be fine, but I still can't scan from the control panel on the all-in-one itself.

Also, if I run the Windows 10 Scan app, it says "To get started, connect a scanner" but does not recognize my all-in-one. I imagine I may have to hook up my scanner via USB, but I would think that the computer would recognize the scanner via my router.

I also tried the Windows printer troubleshooter, and it was unable to find any problems with my printer (which makes sense, since I'm not having any trouble printing).

I know that this is not an HP printer forum, but since the guy at HP felt that this was a Windows problem, and since it only started happening after I updated Windows, I figured it would be ok to post this here.

Any suggestions (including the suggestion to try a different forum) would be greatly appreciated.

When I visited the settings app, it says that I had 119 GB installed. But when I went to File Explorer and looked under the ‘This PC’ section, it said that I had 96.2 GB installed. I thought this was abit weird and so I restarted my computer. However, it did not work. So I pressed Windows Key+ X and clicked on Disk management. To my surprise, I had 5 partitions with my C: drive 96.3 and the rest of the space taken up by the other 4 partitions. But I have never made any partitions from the day I bought this computer. And also, I want to change my boot screen from the Lenovo logo to the Window logo.

I am using Windows 10 creator's update.

I replaced my Motherboard

I used Fresh Start in windows defender security center

I am using a Windows 10 PC

I am using a Lenovo Yoga 700

Can anyone help me with this?

Excel 2016 for Mac not saving

F R U S T R A T E D ! ! !

Unable to SAVE new files. Unable to SAVE AS existing files.

When I click the SAVE icon (or menu item or use KB shortcuts) the dialog box opens as usual and then immediately closes.

When updating existing spreadsheets I can SAVE and the file does save.

However, I am unable to create new files.

My current clumsy and slow workaround:
Create a copy of an existing file in Finder > rename copy my desired new file name > open new file > delete all content and formatting > create new file content and use SAVE icon

I am using:

Excel for Mac v15.34 (I have the Office suite installed on my HDD)

MacBook Pro w/ macOS Sierra v10.12.5

All updates have been isstalled for both.

I have a protected document. In that document I can edit just certain fields. In Word for Windows that fields are highlighted, but in Word for Mac they aren't. It is very uncomfortable. How to highlight regions available for editing in protected document in Word for Mac?

Brandnew MacBook Pro and Office 365 a week ago. Major presentation to a key client that I have sent off and presenting this week - I've got NOTHING and I use the latest versions. I don't know if I have the time to re-create everything.... but then what do I do?

Do I need to sell it and buy a PC?

I'm connected to 'ATOM FEED', which prevents me from reading Gmails in standard View, only HTML?

I do not have any Apps authorized to access, my Account. I've changed my Password. I've contacted Gmail Forums, and HELP Site, to no avail?

Can you help?

Mac Excel Tab not working properly

Brand new Excel sheet. I have to manually enter text into 2 columns: A & B (Surname & Forename)

I enter the surname into cell A, tab to B, enter the forename.

Then I use my arrow keys to go down a row and left to cell A (as I do not have surnames for everyone, using the Return key doesn't land me in the right spot every time, so I found it quicker to hit either one or two arrow keys) .

Using this method, after using the arrow keys to get to line 2, cell A, I enter the next surname, hit tab to go to cell B, but it jumps to cell C instead. It does this every single time (whether or not I have text in cell A).

How do I get it to only tab 1 cell instead of 2?

Unable to open hyperlinks when Edge is default browser

Hyperlinks do not connect when Edge set as the default browser. Edge launches but fails to connect to the web page referenced by the hyperlink. This happens on all hyperlinks. For example, a Facebook post comes into email. Clicking the hyperlink launches Edge, and the little connect circle continues to circle. The page never connects. However:

I can launch Edge by itself
When I change the default to another browser, hyperlinks launch that browser and the page connects

Although I have been pretty much browser agnostic, I would like Edge to function properly. To that end, I ran a sfc /scannow command with Admin permission. Scannow found no issues.

Any ideas how I can fix this improper situation with Edge?

Hi All,

I created a FORM from four Tables which it has a total of 17 fields in that form. They all can be viewed in Design View but when i try to view them in Form view, it shows nothing. Meaning, it displays only a blank form with no fields.

Is it because of too many fields?

I even don't know the cause of it being blank when viewed in Form View.

Please help if you know the cause of my form being blank when viewed in Form View?
